Stars and Strides 5K Delaware
The Bloom Energy Stars and Strides Delaware is an annual 5K run and walk held in November with a Veterans Day themed celebration. The event includes a 5K run/walk, family-friendly activities, and formal recognition of veterans and active military. Proceeds support veterans and active military in Delaware through named beneficiaries, which have included Stop Soldier Suicide, the Delaware National Guard Youth Foundation, and the Food Bank of Delaware.
The 5K course is open for one hour and walkers are welcome. Strollers are permitted but participants are asked to take care to avoid impeding others. Pets are not allowed. Refunds are not available. Day of registration is listed as $40. Packet pick up is provided before the event.
Registered participants receive a custom bib, a long sleeve shirt, and pre and post race snacks and beverages. The event lists opportunities for volunteers and sponsors, and a range of corporate and community sponsors are associated with the race, including Bloom Energy, MDavis, Chemours, Sherman Engineering, the University of Delaware, and others.
