Annie Curtis Community Run
The Annie Curtis Community Run is an inaugural athletic event held in Anacortes, Washington. The run celebrates the history of the town, which was founded by Amos Bowman and named after his wife, Annie Curtis Bowman. The event features a single distance:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
The route begins and ends at the Depot Arts and Community Center, a historic train depot locally referred to as "The Depot." Participants follow a course along the marina waterfront toward the base of Cap Sante. The path then transitions through scenic downtown neighborhoods and past historic homes before entering Causland Park, known for its intricate stone-work.
The course continues under the Anacortes welcome arch and includes a segment of the Tommy Thompson Trail. Runners pass the Seafarers Memorial and return toward the marina, passing the Annie Curtis sculpture, the WT Preston snag boat, and the Maritime Heritage Museum.
The event is open to participants of all paces, and leashed dogs are permitted to join. Registration for the run is free of charge. After the run, a community gathering takes place at the Rockfish Grill, where participants can access refreshments and promotional discounts.
