Course
The Annalong Horseshoe is a mountain running event. The long course covers 21.10 km with 1700 m of climb. A shorter course of 8.50 km is also available.
The terrain is not specifically described, but race marking is for major junctions only. The use of GPS devices is not allowed.
Equipment
All runners must bring a set of mandatory kit (Level B - Standard) to the event. The kit includes:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or buff
- Gloves
- Whistle
- Charged mobile phone with emergency number stored
- Foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent
The specific items to be carried during the race will be finalized on the day based on conditions and announced at registration. Runners must have a means to carry all kit. Failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification, and random checks may be carried out.
Organization
The event is organized by NIMRA (Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association) as part of the NIMRA League and NIMRA Championships. More information can be found on the NIMRA website.
For IMRA participants, completing two non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year qualifies for end-of-year prizes. Volunteers who also run do not count towards this qualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
