Angela Ivory Memorial Runs
The Angela Ivory Memorial Runs are trail ultrarunning events held at Killen's Pond State Park in Felton, DE over a multi-day weekend in January. The event offers three distance options run on a roughly 3.10-mile loop fully inside the park. The loop is mostly dirt with some single-track sections, roots, occasional rocks and low overall climb (about 80 feet per loop). A short paved loop around the parking lot and an aluminum footbridge are part of the course.
Distances:
- 50K on the loop course.
- 24 Hour continuous-lap option.
- 100 Miler using the same loop.
Facilities include a covered pavilion with tenting space, heated restrooms in the parking area, and picnic tables. Parking is ample and close to the course to facilitate self-crewing. Runners are expected to pack out their trash; the park has no garbage cans. Both self-supported and community-shared aid are part of the event; aid is not guaranteed. Race operations follow an informal "Fat Ass style": no chip timing, no guaranteed shirts, and basic race services only. The 100 Miler awards a finisher buckle.
Each race is capped at 40 entrants with no waitlist, no transfers, and no refunds for any reason. Entry fees contribute to park charges for extended hours and pavilion rental; excess funds are donated to the park.
