Event overview
The 13th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026, on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. The event raises funds to provide scholarships for Riverview High School senior soccer players, JROTC cadets, and track athletes. Any remaining funds will be added to Sarasota Community Foundation scholarships in Andrew Monroe’s name. Participants are asked to bring a can or two of food for Mayor’s Feed the Hungry.

Entry fees listed are $45 for the 5K and 1 Mile Walk, and $35 for the Virtual Race. The event offers trophies for Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and Veteran Grand Master categories, and awards six deep in each category with medals for the top three. Age groups are in five-year increments up to 90 and above. There are roughly 160 door prizes and goodie bags for the first 400 registrants. Pre-race coffee service, a color guard, and the national anthem are part of the event program. Early packet pickup is scheduled at two New Balance locations in the Sarasota area. Per USATF rules, gun time determines prize money winners and time bonuses, while chip time is used for age-group results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
