Event Details

The event is scheduled for January 10, 2027. It takes place on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida, at the address 948 Beach Rd.

The available race distances are:

  • Andrew Monroe 5K
  • 1 Mile Walk
  • Virtual Race

The event is organized to raise scholarship funds. These scholarships support further education for Riverview High School senior soccer players, JROTC cadets, and track athletes. Any remaining funds are directed to grow the Andrew Monroe scholarship fund at the Sarasota Community Foundation.

On-Site Activities

Pre-race activities include Starbucks coffee, a color guard presentation, and the national anthem. After the race, there is a door prize board with approximately 175 prizes. Awards are given in several categories. Trophies are presented to Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Sr. Grand Masters, and Veteran Grand Master winners. Additionally, awards are given six places deep in each age category, with the top three receiving medals. Age groups are in five-year increments up to 90 and above. Goodie bags are provided to the first 350 registrants.

Participants are encouraged to bring canned food donations for "Mayors Feed the Hungry" and old shoes and clothing for "Resurrection House."
