The 13th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida (948 Beach Rd, Sarasota, FL 34242). The event offers the following distances and formats:

Entry for each event is listed at $35. The event accepts individual entrants and teams of four.
Features, awards and charity
The race supports scholarships for Riverview High School senior soccer players, JROTC cadets, and track athletes. Remaining funds will be used to grow Sarasota Community Foundation scholarships in Andrew Monroe’s name. Participants are asked to bring canned food donations for Mayor’s Feed the Hungry.
Pre-race elements include Starbucks coffee, a color guard, and a national anthem opening. After the race there is a door prize board with roughly 160 door prizes. Goodie bags are provided to the first 400 registrants.
Awards include trophies for Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and Veteran Grand Master, with placements six deep in each category; the top three in each category receive medals. Age groups are in five-year increments up to 90 and above. Per USATF rules, gun time determines prize money winners and time bonuses; tag (chip) time determines age-group results.
