Anchorage RunFest
The Anchorage RunFest is a multi-day running event organized by the Anchorage Running Club, a nonprofit organization. The festival takes place over two days in Anchorage, Alaska, with different central locations for each day. Saturday events are based at the Delaney Park Strip, while Sunday events start near Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of distances and race formats:
- 49K Ultra: Designated as a 2026 RRCA Western Regional Championship race.
- 26.2 Miles: A Boston Marathon Qualifying race and 50 States Marathon Club reunion site.
- 26.2 Mile Relay: A team-based version of the full marathon distance.
- 13.1 Miles: Available as both a traditional road race and a handcycle division.
- 5K: A shorter distance road race held on Sunday.
- 1 Mile: Featuring both the Anchorage Mile and a dedicated Military Mile.
- 2K: A free event for children aged 12 and under.
The marathon serves as a partner race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships. The Military Mile is offered free of charge for current and former members of the armed forces. Proceeds from the event support college scholarships for high school runners and local health initiatives.
