Ames Turkey Trot

The Ames Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Ames, Iowa. The event includes two distances:

5K
Turkey Tot Trot - 400 meters

The route starts and finishes in front of Fitness Sports in Ames at 410 5th Street and runs through downtown Ames. The 5K is open to all ages and accommodates both running and walking. Refreshments are available at the finish.

Participants who register by 11/14 receive a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal. The Turkey Tot Trot runs through the downtown Main and 5th area; participants in that event receive a unique Ames Turkey Trot coloring book and a race medal.

Packet pickup is available at Fitness Sports in Ames on the day before the event and the morning of the event; early pickup is recommended to reduce wait times and to access sponsor offers.
