Ames Turkey Trot
The Ames Turkey Trot takes place in Ames, Iowa, on Thanksgiving Day. The event features a course that moves through the downtown area and various parts of the city, beginning and ending at the same location on 5th Street. The event is open to participants of all ages and abilities.

The Turkey Tot Trot is a specialized 400 meter event designed for children. This distance follows a path through the downtown areas of Main Street and 5th Street. Children participating in this event receive a unique coloring book and a finisher's medal to mark their participation.
Packet pickup is organized at Fitness Sports in Ames on the Wednesday before the race and on the morning of the event. Registration includes various offers and coupons from local sponsors.
