The Ames Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Ames, Iowa. The event includes a 5K road race and a children’s Turkey Tot Trot of 400 meters. The 5K route starts and ends in front of Fitness Sports - Ames at 410 5th Street and runs through downtown Ames before returning to the start. The Turkey Tot Trot follows a short route in the downtown Main and 5th area and includes a coloring book and race medal for participants.
