Trestle Hustle
Trestle Hustle is an annual community running and multisport event held on the High Trestle Trail in Madrid, Iowa. The 17th edition takes place on June 20, 2026, with start and finish near the Dalander Park / Johnson Trailhead area. The event benefits the Boone County Hospital Foundation.
Race options include in person and virtual choices:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run that crosses the High Trestle Trail Bridge
- Duathlon 2 mile run, 14 mile bike, 2 mile run (solo and relay teams)
- Virtual options for 5K, 10K, or Duathlon
Participants must be age 14 or older; younger athletes may take part with a parent or guardian's consent and supervision. In person races are professionally timed and include a finisher medal. The course is described as scenic and well marked, with support and hydration stations on the 5K and 10K courses and a transition area for the duathlon.
Safety measures include monitoring by local law enforcement and EMS, volunteers positioned along the route, road and trail markings, and event operations in varied weather with alerts posted if needed. Early bird and standard registration periods are noted for the event year, and a giveaway item is guaranteed for early bird registrants; details will be announced before race day.
