5th Annual American Legion Auxiliary Turkey Trot
The American Legion Auxiliary Turkey Trot is an annual community event held on Thanksgiving morning in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Organized by the American Legion LeBron Post 58 Family, the event is designed to support the well-being of veterans, their families, and the local military community. The proceeds from the race are dedicated to benefiting veterans.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual event
The 5k course begins and ends at Mineral Wells Park, located at 901 S Division. Participants who register by a specific early deadline in November are guaranteed the option of a t-shirt add-on, while any remaining shirts are sold on-site at the event. After completing their respective distances, attendees can gather for refreshments including donuts and hot chocolate provided by the organizers.
The event is hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary, which consists of family members of veterans, including spouses and descendants, who work toward the mission of strengthening the community through mutual helpfulness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
