Always Leave Smiling 5K Run/Walk
The Always Leave Smiling 5K Run/Walk is the second annual 5K event held on October 17, 2026. The course follows a new 5K route and is organized by the Always Leave Smiling Foundation, which was founded in 2025 to honor a local resident and outdoorsman from Barry County.
The event headquarters is at The Legacy Golf Course, 1550 N Broadway, Hastings, MI 49058. Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before and on race day at the same location.
All proceeds go to the Always Leave Smiling Foundation. Funds will be used to help Barry County residents with expenses associated with cancer treatment and to assist youth entering trade programs.
Registration opens July 28, 2026 and closes September 30, 2026. Published registration fees are $35 before October 1, $45 after October 1, and $15 for participants age 12 and under. Registration includes an Always Leave Smiling finisher's medal, a short-sleeved custom race shirt, a 5K race bib, live timing with instant results, post-race food and drinks, and age group awards.
