Almost Half Way to St. Patrick's Day 5K
The Almost Half Way to St. Patrick’s Day 5K is a road race held in Portland, Maine on 09/19/2027. The race starts and finishes at 84 Baxter Blvd; packet pickup and race day registration are at Marathon Sports, 309 Marginal Way, Portland.
Registration fees vary by date: $26 through March 24, $29 through June 1, $34 thereafter, and $39 on race day. All pre-registrants by August 20 receive a shirt or stein; items may be available after that date as supplies allow.
The event donates proceeds to Amvets Post 25. Awards include a cash prize for top male and female overall, age group awards from 14 and under through 80 plus, and team cash prizes for teams with a minimum of four participants in running club, corporate, and open categories. Course records are male 15:48 (2024) and female 17:36 (2023).
Post-race activities take place at the Munjoy Hill Tavern, 189 Congress St, with a policy that participants under 21 must remain with a parent. In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, participants aged 21 and over may receive one complimentary Guinness. There are no refunds; in the event of catastrophic weather or other extreme events the race may be moved to an alternate date or converted to a virtual event with submitted results.
