Due to local logistics, the packet pickup location is situated 0.9 miles from the starting line and 0.4 miles from the finish line. Driving time between these locations is estimated to be less than five minutes. The event supports a local cause by making donations to Amvets Post 25.
Following the race, a post-race gathering is held at the Munjoy Hill Tavern on Congress Street. Participants aged 21 and older are eligible to receive one complementary Guinness. Participants under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent during the post-race gathering.
