27th Annual Allen Stone Braveheart Memorial Races

The Allen Stone Braveheart Memorial Races take place in Virginia Beach to honor the memory of local Navy SEAL Allen Stone. Originally established in 1999 as a Run-Swim-Run event, the competition was renamed following Stone's death during training to celebrate his service and courageous spirit. The event supports the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Navy SEAL Foundation.

The event features several distinct categories for participants, including:

  • Run-Swim-Run
  • 5K run
  • 1 mile Kid's Race

The event begins with a formal opening ceremony that includes a reading of the Navy SEAL Creed, an invocation, and a National Anthem ceremony featuring a parachute jump with the American Flag. Specialized categories for Team Hoyt are available for both the 5K and the Run-Swim-Run events.

In addition to the races, activities include a pull-up contest, a raffle, and an awards ceremony. A post-race gathering is held at the Smartmouth Brewing Company Virginia Beach Pilot House located on 32nd Street. Registration and packet pickup are available both on the day before the event at a local running store and on the morning of the races at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
