Alleghany Highlands Triathlon
The Alleghany Highlands Triathlon in Clifton Forge is a multi-discipline event that finishes at the Historic Masonic Amphitheatre in downtown Clifton Forge. The event accepts individual competitors and teams of three. Awards and prizes are presented at the finish area.
Distances and course elements:
- 5k run begins and ends at Sharon Community Center and goes to Lonestar Church.
- 5 mile paddle from Sharon Community Center to Steel Bridge in McKinney Hollow.
- 10 mile bike starts at 4881 McKinney Hollow Road in Eagle Rock and finishes downtown.
The kayak segment finishes at Steel Bridge in McKinney Hollow. The bike route originates in Eagle Rock and follows local roads into Clifton Forge toward the finish at the Masonic Amphitheatre. Post race activities include live music and food, with lunch catered by Michael's Pizzeria. Door prizes listed for the event include an Omni Homestead Resort foursome golf package at Old Course or Cascades with carts, a Garth Newel concert and dinner for two, and items from Alleghany Outdoors.
