Event overview
The Odyssey Trail Running Rampage is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at Douthat State Park in Millboro, Virginia. The weekend features four trail races with the following distances:
- 50K (31+ miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Six-Miler (6.0 miles)
The race is part of the Virginia State Park Adventure Series.
Course and race format
The main loop is roughly 13+ miles with about 2700 feet of elevation gain per loop, most of which is gained in the first three miles. The Six-Miler uses the last five miles of that loop plus an added ridge trail and has over 1000 feet of elevation gain. Loops are reported to be about 0.3 miles long on the high side; there is no extra charge for the extra distance.
- The 50K is three loops (two half-marathon loops plus one six-mile loop).
- The Marathon is two loops.
- The Half Marathon is one loop.
- The Six-Miler is a single loop.
Runners who complete at least one full loop are counted as finishers for the distance they complete. Athletes who drop down from a longer registered distance are ineligible for top-3 prizes for the longer distance.
Aid stations, services, and awards
Each loop has an aid station at mile 3.5 (water only) and two fully stocked stations at miles 9 and 11.25 of the loop. Aid station items include HEED water, flat cola, potatoes and salt, banana halves, and pretzels. Ultra and Marathon runners may stage supplies at the loop finish.
Included with entry are a well-marked course, chip timing, a performance wicking T-shirt, a post-race dinner, finishers' awards, and an Odyssey pint mug for all finishers.
