Event overview
The USARA National Championships take place October 23-24, 2026, based at Diamond Lake Resort in Oregon. The event is organized by Bend Racing and uses a course that requires continuous team effort over a roughly 30 hour race window. The course will include trekking, mountain biking, paddling, and navigation on a course that will be kept confidential until race day.
Racing is open to four-person teams in three official categories: mixed gender, all-women, and all-men. Each team will be issued a tracking device for safety and live tracking. A Garmin watch in AR mode is the only other permissible use of GPS by racers. All official finishers receive a custom finisher medal and earn points toward both USARA and ARWS rankings.
Prizes and special awards are planned across several categories. The premier mixed gender winner will receive entry to the 2027 Adventure Racing World Championship in Croatia; the top U.S. mixed gender team and other top finishers will receive race credit prizes. Additional awards will recognize fastest sections by discipline, navigation ingenuity, team spirit, and top Masters and category results.
Diamond Lake Resort sits near Crater Lake and Umpqua National Forest and offers cabins, motel rooms, and an RV park. A shuttle option from Medford airport will be available by reservation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
