Alaska Ski for Women : Kincaid Park, Anchorage
The Alaska Ski for Women is scheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2027, at Kincaid Park in Anchorage and marks the event's 31st anniversary. The event brings together close to 1,000 Alaska women to ski a decorated course of approximately 4 km (2.4 miles). Many participants wear costumes and the program includes timed races, a costume contest, and an untimed party wave.
A Friends and Family Ski is held the day before and the course is open to anyone who prefers to ski independently; people of any gender may register for the Saturday session. On the main day, timed events are restricted to girls and women; youth under age 12 are welcome to register for the party wave.
Registration fees are listed as $40 for adults 13 and older and $15 for youth 0 to 12. The first 100 registrants who register at $100 or more receive a limited edition engraved tumbler. Final registration payments include the registration cost plus a 3% credit card fee.
The event supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and Alaska nonprofits that work to stop domestic violence. Over the past 30 years the event has donated over $1,500,000 to local nonprofit organizations. A charity auction runs in conjunction with the event and the 2026 online auction raised $15,304.
Additional event activities include bib pick up at multiple dates and locations before the main day, event merchandise, and a volunteer committee that seeks members from the community. Parking is available at Kincaid Elementary with a shuttle service to the Kincaid Chalet; parking at the park itself is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
