Alameda July 4th Parade R.A.C.E.

The event is a point to point 5K run and walk through Alameda on July 4, taking place on closed city streets. The course moves from the Park Street business district to the Webster Farmers Market location at 1526 Webster St and passes both residential and commercial areas. Roads are closed to traffic and spectators line parts of the route as activity for the island parade builds later in the morning.

The event is BIB timed; there will be no age group awards this year. Participants receive finisher shirts, custom medals, and additional event merchandise at the finish. An expo features local businesses focused on health and longevity, and a beer garden is included.

Packet pick-up is scheduled across several days at Laurens Closet, 1420 Park St, with specified hours, and there is race morning packet pick-up at 1440 Park St near La Penca Restaurant. Organizers will operate free post run shuttle service from the finish back to the start with expanded routes compared with prior years; shuttle service gives priority to runners with BIBs but is open to the community.

The run benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda and serves as the kickoff for the island parade. Registration opens and closes on the dates provided by the organizer and a registration fee applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
