Alameda July 4th Parade R.A.C.E.
The Alameda July 4th Parade R.A.C.E. is a point to point 5K run and walk that travels through closed business and residential streets on the island. The course is described as flat and fast and starts in the Park Street business district, finishing at the Webster Farmers Market location, 1526 Webster St, Alameda. Roads are closed for the event and spectators gather along the route as the island parade follows later in the morning.
The event benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda. Participants receive timed BIBs; there will be no age group awards this year. Finishers are offered shirts, custom medals, and commemorative items described as island run SWAG. Organizers provide a free shuttle from the race finish back to the start; the shuttle runs from 9:00am to 1:00pm with priority for runners wearing BIBs and is open to the broader community.
Packet pick-up is available 7/1 through 7/3 at Laurens Closet, 1420 Park St, with hours 10:00am to 5:00pm. Race morning registration opens at 7:30am at 1440 Park St, near La Penca Restaurant at the corner of Santa Clara. The event includes an expo featuring local health focused businesses and a beer garden sponsored by Faction Brewery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
