AdventHealth Groveland Turkey Trot 10K
The AdventHealth Groveland Turkey Trot 10K is an annual running and walking event held on Thanksgiving morning in Groveland, Florida. The event takes place at Cherry Lake Park and features multiple course types and distances. Participants can choose between several options:
- 10k (6.2 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Virtual Groveland Turkey Trot 10k
- Virtual Groveland Turkey Trot 5K
The 5K and 10K courses utilize Wilson Lake Parkway, featuring the local hills of Groveland. Roads are closed to traffic for the event, however, the 10k distance includes a section of hard-packed off-road terrain that remains open to vehicles but is marked for safety. All participants receive a chip-timed bib, a race shirt, a finisher's medal, and post-race refreshments.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various categories, including overall, masters, grand master, and five-year age groups. These awards are unique living art pieces provided by a design group. For safety and coordination, strollers are permitted but must line up at the back of the pack. Pets, bicycles, skateboards, and unauthorized motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited on the race course.
The event also serves as a community fundraiser, collecting non-perishable food items during packet pickup and on race day for the FAITH Neighborhood Center to support local families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
