The 5-0 5K is a running event organized in collaboration with the Oakland Police Department. The race route takes place along the West Orange Trail, passing through scenic areas of Oakland, Florida. All proceeds from the event are designated to support the Oakland Police Department Community Programs.

The course begins at the entrance to the Oakland Police Department. Participants travel North on Winter Landing Drive to reach the West Orange Trail, then head Westbound toward the Oakland Nature Preserve entrance. After reaching the turnaround point at the preserve entrance, the route returns to the finish line located at the Police Department. Water stations are positioned for participants at the one-mile and two-mile markers.

Available distances include:

  • 3.1 Miles (5K)
  • 3.1 Miles (Virtual Option)

Participants have the choice between an in-person race and a virtual format. For the virtual 5K, results must be submitted by late November. Packet pickup is scheduled at the Oakland Police Department on the Friday afternoon before the race and on the morning of the event.

All finishers receive a medal, and awards are presented to the top three participants in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
