Yaya's Run
Yaya's Run takes place on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at Surfers Point at Seaside Park in Ventura, California. It is a running event held in memory of a local runner named Yaya, celebrating her love for the sport.
The event offers several distances on an open course along a beach path. Participants are asked to be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists sharing the path. The course consists of out-and-back loops marked with cones, chalk, and signs. An aid station at the start/finish and turnaround point provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Available distances include:
- 5k: A single out-and-back route.
- 10k: Two loops of the 5k route.
- 15k: Three loops of the 5k route.
- Half marathon: A longer route of three loops, each approximately 4.36 miles.
Bib pickup begins at 7:00 AM. There is a 3:15 hour time limit for the half marathon; participants needing more time can request an early start via email. Race day registration is available for cash, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, results posted online within 12-24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. A t-shirt is optional for an additional $10, with size guaranteed only for registrations completed by early February.
