Mountains 2 Beach Marathon and Half
The event is a two day point to point race weekend on April 18 and 19, 2026, that moves from the mountains around Ojai into the beachfront area of Ventura. The full marathon begins in downtown Ojai at just over 700 feet and descends gradually to sea level over about 22 miles, finishing near the Ventura Pier and San Buenaventura State Beach Park. The marathon course is USATF certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier (CA24015TEB). The half marathon starts in Oak View near the midpoint of the full course and follows a gentle downhill into the same Ventura beachfront finish. The half marathon is limited to the first 2,000 entrants.
A 10K starts near Crooked Palm at about mile 20 of the full course and leads into downtown Ventura before the beach finish. The beachfront 5K begins near San Buenaventura State Beach Park and runs along the bike path and promenade with a turnaround at the Flagpole. The weekend also includes a Kids 1K fun run and combo options that pair the Saturday 5K with a Sunday race.
The event lists official charity partners and volunteer roles for aid stations, course setup, and finish area support. Runners and families are directed to the finish line area near the shops and restaurants of Historic Downtown Ventura for post race activities.
