361° Abersoch Half Marathon
The event is a 13.1 miles half marathon held in the seaside village of Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. The course is predominately on roads and finishes with the final kilometre run along Abersoch Beach onto the sand.
The route sweeps through the villages of Llanengan, Llangian and Sarn Bach. Drink stations offering water or isotonic sports drink are located at 5.7 miles, 8.7 miles, 11.3 miles and at the finish. The event uses ChronoChip bibtag timing and is affiliated to the Welsh Athletics Association so entrants must abide by Welsh Athletics rules and regulations.
Course management includes clear mile and direction signs, friendly marshals, professional traffic management and medic support. The finish area on the beach includes music, a race compere, massages, a beach bar and a BBQ. All finishers receive a zinc alloy medal with a bespoke lanyard plus recovery food and drink.
Bespoke trophies and a prize fund of £1,000 are awarded. The half marathon is one of the races that form the Abersoch Triple Crown, where times from the 10K, triathlon and half marathon can be combined for an overall Triple Crown result.
