Abergele 5K & 10K : overview
The Abergele 5K & 10K is a road running event organised by Run Wales on the Abergele/Pensarn promenade in North Wales (Sat Nav: LL22 7PQ). All finishers receive a technical T-shirt and a bespoke medal. Double entrants receive medals and a technical T-shirt; the medal ribbon indicates completion of both races. Prizes are awarded for overall Male/Female 1st to 3rd and for 1st in each age category.
Race details
The course starts on the promenade at Abergele/Pensarn and is described as flat. There is free parking next to the start/finish. Numbers and timing chips are collected at race headquarters. Drink stations are provided at approximately every 3 miles and at the finish; runners who need extra water are advised to bring their own bottle. Public toilets are available near the start and additional portaloos will be provided; there are no changing facilities. A professional medical team provides first aid at the start, finish and on course. Headphones are not allowed except bone-conducting types. Results will be available on runwales.com. Runners are expected to maintain a pace near 12-15 minutes per mile; slower runners may be directed to use pavements and follow course signs.
