Abergele 5K & 10K
Abergele 5K & 10K is held on the Abergele / Pensarn promenade on the North Wales coast and uses a flat, fast seaside route intended to support strong 5K and 10K performances. A double option allows competing in both races on the same day.
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Race headquarters opens next to the start/finish on the promenade and is the pickup point for race numbers and timing chips. There is free parking adjacent to the start/finish. Baggage can be left in the designated area but valuables should not be left in bags.
Drink stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and at the finish; runners who need extra fluid are advised to bring their own bottle. A public toilet block is near the start and additional portaloos will be available. There are no changing facilities.
First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team with stations at the start, finish and on course. Runners should fill medical history details on the back of their race number. If a runner withdraws they must inform the nearest marshal and return their timing chip to race HQ.
All finishers receive a technical T shirt and a bespoke medal. Double entrants receive the double medal and a technical T shirt. Prize presentation will be made around 12pm. There are no road closures for this event. Headphones are not permitted except bone conducting devices in line with UK Athletics Rule 240 S 5. Deliberate littering outside water stations or away from marshals may lead to disqualification. Runners unable to maintain about a 12 to 15 minute per mile pace may be directed to use pavements and follow course signage and the highway code.
