Abe Lincoln Trail Trek - 5K / 10K

The Abe Lincoln Trail Trek takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Carpenter Park in Sherman, Illinois. The event offers trail routes in two distances and is set within parkland along the Sangamon River.

The course moves through winding woodland trails and river-bottom fields with varied trail surfaces and well-marked routes. The race was moved to April to provide firmer footing and clearer views after last year’s soggy conditions. Runners may encounter deer, squirrels, and native birds along the way.

This event is the opening race of the All-American Trail Trek Series, a three-race sequence that includes events in April, July, and September.
