Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon - Springfield, Illinois
The Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon is a USATF certified half marathon held in Springfield, Illinois on April 11, 2026. The course starts and finishes at the Old State Capitol Plaza and covers 13.1 miles, visiting multiple sites connected to Abraham Lincoln.
Within the first quarter mile the route passes the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices. Not far into the course runners pass the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned. Around mile nine the course enters Oak Ridge Cemetery, where Lincoln's tomb can be viewed. Mile ten goes through the city park named for Lincoln. During the final mile the route passes the historic Union Train Station and runs adjacent to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library, which is one block from the finish.
Event logistics include an expo and packet pickup at the Old State Capitol on the day before the race, plus race morning packet pickup near the start line. Registration opens November 1, 2025. For 2026 the event is live race only; a virtual option is listed as available to race day volunteers.
