27th Annual AARC Frostbite 5-Miler
The Frostbite 5 Mile is a winter road race organized by the Ambler Area Running Club (AARC) in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The event serves as the kickoff for the USATF Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix series and takes place on a 5 mile course that is USATF certified. The route is described as being mostly flat with gentle rolling hills.
The event starts and finishes at Wissahickon High School on Houston Road. Registration is limited to a maximum of 1,500 runners to manage the capacity of the high school facilities. Participants who register by certain deadlines are eligible for event shirts, though availability is not guaranteed for late registrants.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over. The race is held under various weather conditions, including snow, sleet, or rain, unless conditions are determined to be unsafe.

Proceeds and donations from the event are shared among local charities selected by members of the Ambler Area Running Club. Packet pickup is available in the days leading up to the race at a local running store in Spring House, as well as on the morning of the event at the high school.
