A Time 2 Read Storybook 5K and Fun Run
A Time 2 Read holds an annual Storybook Character 5K and Family Fun Run in Huntsville, Texas. The event offers both an in-person race that begins and ends in the parking lot of University Heights Baptist Church and a virtual option for participants who prefer to run on their own course or live too far away. Packet pick up takes place the Friday before the race at the back portico of University Heights Baptist Church with options to park and walk up or drive through. Virtual participants who are not local may have their race packet mailed.

Registration fees are listed for each distance. T shirts are provided to participants and finishers receive a finisher medal. Participants who dress as storybook characters may be eligible for judged prizes in categories for Best Family, Best Adult, Best Child, and Best Dog. All age groups are welcome. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed but should assemble at the back of the pack at the start. Participants are asked to stay on the official course and use sidewalks where available.
The event is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser and supports A Time 2 Read, a literacy program that trains volunteers to coach 1st and 2nd grade students and reports impacts on reading proficiency. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
