Event details

Rocky Raccoon 100, by USWE is held at Huntsville State Park in Huntsville, Texas on February 7–8, 2026. Distances offered include:

  • 100 mile
  • 100 km
  • Youth 1 mile (ages 12 and under; untimed, bib and finisher medal)

The event has participant caps and uses a wait list when full. The 100 mile finishers who complete the distance within the stated qualifying time become eligible to enter the Western States 100 lottery.

Course and race logistics

The 100 mile course is five 20-mile laps. The 100 km course includes one short ~2-mile lap followed by three full 20-mile laps. Each full lap has roughly 1,250 feet of elevation gain and loss. The route loops around a lake, crosses wooden bridges, and runs through pine forest on trails covered with pine needles; roots are noted as a footing concern while rocks are minimal.

Course markings use tape, arrows, confidence markers, and reflectors for night navigation. Full aid station support is provided at all stations with hot and cold options; the event is cupless, so runners must bring a cup or bottle. Drop bag services are organized by aid station location and are handled in advance of the race. Pacers are allowed after 49 miles, with one pacer at a time and required registration. Chip timing uses ankle chips; runners who leave the race must return their chip. Awards include Top 3 male and female and 10-year age-group winners.
