The Rocky Raccoon 100, by USWE is set for February 7-8, 2026 at Huntsville State Park (565 Park Road 40 W, Huntsville, TX). Distances offered include:
- 100 miles
- 100 km
- Youth 1 mile (ages 12 and under, untimed, finisher medal)
The race has a participant cap and often sells out. The 100 mile finishers who complete the course within 30 hours qualify to enter the Western States 100 lottery. The event is held rain or shine.
Course, support and logistics
The 100 mile course is five 20-mile laps. The 100 km course uses one short 2-mile lap plus three full 20-mile laps. Each full lap has roughly 1,250 feet of elevation gain and equal loss. The route circles a lake, crosses wooden bridges, and runs through East Texas pine forest on trails covered with pine needles. Course markings include caution tape, yellow arrows, and reflective confidence markers for night navigation.
Full aid station support is provided day and night with a variety of hot and cold options; caffeinated options are often available at night. Drop bags are accepted for specified aid stations, with separate bags required for certain stations and a delivery and return service provided by the organizer. Races are chip timed; results list both Gun Time (official) and Chip Time. Pacers are allowed after 49 miles with registration required.
