Rocky 50 Trail Race
Rocky 50 is a trail race held at Huntsville State Park, with the 2027 edition scheduled for February 13, 2027. The event uses Raven Lodge and the edge of Lake Raven as the race hub and start/finish area. The course runs through much of the park and features rolling trails, many exposed tree roots, pine needle covered tread, bridges, lake shoreline sections, and frequent wildlife sightings.

Course format and profile: the 50 mile course is three 16.7 mile loops. The 50K uses a shorter first lap plus one full 16.7 mile lap. The half marathon follows a 13.1 mile modified lap. Expect roughly 1,250 feet of elevation gain and equal loss per full lap. The route is marked with orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and numerous confidence markers; reflective markings are used for sections run in dark hours.
Support and policies: full aid station support is provided with hot and cold options; one aid station near a bridge is set up primarily as a water refill for the half marathon. The event is cupless so runners must bring their own cup or bottle; disposable cups for hot items are occasionally provided but should not be carried onto the trail. Drop bag delivery to Dam Nation is available for the 50 mile and 50K when submitted during Friday packet pickup. Parking at the state park is limited and restricted to designated spaces.
