Wings for Life World Run Huntsville

The Wings for Life World Run is a global event where participants across the globe start at the same time. This specific App Run Event takes place in Huntsville, Texas. The course is set to take participants through the City of Huntsville along the Avenues. Both runners and wheelchair participants are welcome to take part in this event.

The format of this race is unique because it does not have a traditional fixed finish line. Instead, participants use a mobile application to compete against a Virtual Catcher Car. This virtual vehicle begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start of the race. Initially moving at a speed of 14 km/h, the car gradually increases its pace until it has overtaken every participant. Once the Virtual Catcher Car catches an individual, their race is officially complete.

Participants can aim for various distances depending on their pace, such as:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 15 km
  • 20 km
  • 40 km

The event includes a local setup with a refreshment station for those running the route. All entry fees and donations collected from the event are used to fund spinal cord research projects. Participation requires the use of the event's official mobile app to track progress and sync with the global race results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
