9/11 Heroes Run - Huntington, New York
The 9/11 Heroes Run takes place on September 12, 2026 at Mill Dam Park in Halesite, New York. The event honors the heroes of 9/11 and those who have served the nation, and it seeks to activate and unite communities while supporting local veterans, active duty service members, first responders, and families of the fallen.
The program includes running, rucking, and walking options across multiple distances:
- 5K run
- 5K GORUCK ruck division
- 1 mile run/walk
Rucking is described as a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. TMF partners with GORUCK and offers rucking divisions; participants registered in the GORUCK division will receive that year’s TMF GORUCK patch.
