Kids Need More 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run : 2026
The event is the 3rd annual Kids Need More 5K Run/Walk with a separate Kids 1/4M Fun Run held on September 12, 2026 at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, New York. It supports children and families impacted by serious illness, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions and directs proceeds toward camp experiences and related programs.
Two race options are offered:
- 5K Run/Walk (Ages 10 and up)
- Kids 1/4M Fun Run (Timed; Ages 9 and under)
Awards include overall and age-group prizes for the 5K, plus medals for all Kids Fun Run finishers. This year the top male and top female 5K finishers will receive a $1,000 donation each to be directed by the winner to a qualified charity, public institution, or New York State college savings program; eligibility requires race registration.
Event amenities noted by the organizer include race T-shirts for participants registered by August 16, post-race bagels, live results by text and email, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed three weeks in advance.
