Kids Need More 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run : September 12, 2026
The event is the third annual KiDS NEED MoRE community race at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, New York. It includes a main 5K run/walk and a separate kids fun run. The event raises funds for children and families affected by serious illness and cancer and supports programs such as camp experiences, peer connections, and recreational activities for participants.
Distances
- 5K run/walk for ages 10 and up.
- 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run for ages 9 and under.
Awards are presented for overall and age-group placements. The top male and top female overall finishers will each direct a $1,000 donation to a qualified nonprofit, public institution, or New York 529 college savings program. Age-group awards and top finishes are listed for multiple categories, and all Kids Fun Run finishers receive medals.
Logistics and amenities noted by the organizer include race T-shirts for participants registered by August 16, personalized bibs for those who register three weeks in advance, post-race bagels, live text and email results, free finish-line photos, and timed results. Baby strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the course; dogs are not allowed. Last-minute registrants can receive bib numbers by text.
