Kids Need More 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run at Belmont Lake State Park
Kids Need More is a community running event on September 12, 2026 at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, New York. The event raises funds to support children and families affected by serious illness, including cancer, and aims to provide camp experiences and related programs for participants.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk for ages 10 and up.
- 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run timed for ages 9 and under.
Participants who register by August 16 will receive a race T-shirt. The Kids Fun Run awards medals to all finishers. Post race snacks include bagels. Live online, text, and email results are provided, and free finish line photos are available. A personalized bib is provided to those who register three weeks in advance.
Awards for the 5K include top overall male and female finishers and top three male and female finishers in standard age groups (14 & under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+). The top male and top female overall each direct a $1,000 donation to a qualified charity, educational program, New York State college savings program, or community initiative supporting children’s health and well being.
Baby strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the course; dogs are not allowed. The event is held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
