9 Locks 10k Summer Challenge
The 9 Locks 10k Summer Challenge is a point to point road and canal-side race held on Sunday 30 May 2027. The route follows the Stourbridge Canal from the Bonded Warehouse (DY8 4LU) and finishes at the Waterfront in Brierley Hill (DY5 1XD). The course is continual and inclined, with a short section of trail underfoot and a notable ascent at the nine Delph Locks near the finish.
The event uses seeded start times and electronic chip timing, including a King of the Hill component for the locks climb. Participants receive a medal and a goody bag, and there are prizes for top finishers. Organisers provide free parking and a coach transfer.
The atmosphere around the finish area is described as festival like, with race support on course. Entry for the running category has a fee and closes on 27 May 2027. The event is organised by StuWEB Race Timing in partnership with OP Events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
