Event overview

The ASAPC Community 5K Run, Walk, & Roll is the third annual 5K event organized by A Step Ahead in Pierce County (ASAPC). The event promotes awareness of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers and supports services for children from birth to age three who have developmental delays or are at risk for delays. The event takes place at Bradley Lake Park in Puyallup, Washington, on the paved trail that circles the lake.

Course and on-site features

The course uses the paved asphalt trail around Bradley Lake. The trail is generally at least 8 feet wide, mostly gentle grade (about 3% or less), and includes benches and picnic tables for resting. On-site amenities include public restrooms, accessible parking spaces, overflow and street parking, vendors, food trucks, a sensory area, and kids activities. Volunteers will provide snacks and water at refueling stations along the route. Strollers are allowed; bikes and scooters are permitted for children under 10. Well-behaved dogs are allowed.

Registration, fees and other details

The event offers a 5K Run, Walk, & Roll entry. Standard registration is $15 per person; children 12 and under are free. Current ASAPC families may register for free. A donation to ASAPC’s Resource Closet can also provide free entry. A race performance t-shirt is available for purchase for $20 while supplies last. The event is rain or shine and race registrations are nonrefundable. Sponsors and food truck partners are listed by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
