Event Overview
The SISU 24 Ultra PNW is a 24-hour or 100-mile running event at Camp Sheppard near Mount Rainier National Park. Participants can choose from three race formats: a 24-hour solo run, a 24-hour team run (for teams of three), or a 100-mile solo run with a longer time limit. The event includes camping for three days and two nights.
Race Format
The race is self-supported and uses a quest-based point system. There are six marked trail routes, ranging from 3 to 18.9 miles. Participants run out-and-back on these trails, collecting stamps in a quest log at the far point. Points are earned by completing these "main quests." The point value for each trail decreases as more runners complete it. Optional "side quests" on the trails or at base camp offer additional points and may include activities like midnight yoga or puzzles. Participants must check in and out at the timing table before and after each run.
Location and Amenities
The event is held at Camp Sheppard in Enumclaw, Washington. The campsite has restrooms, showers, and BBQ stands. Runners must bring their own food, water purification, and camping gear. The 100-mile route has an elevation gain of approximately 25,000 feet.
Awards and Inclusions
All finishers receive a custom wood medal. Top male, female, and team finishers receive special awards. 100-mile finishers get a custom buckle. Other awards include a "SISU Spirit Award" and a "SISU Miles Award." Registration includes a race t-shirt if ordered by a specified date.
