5K Walk/Run for CDH
The event takes place on April 3, 2027, in Belton, Missouri at 813 W North Ave. It is organized as a 5-kilometer walk and run that focuses on raising awareness of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH).
Approximately 1 in 3,600 babies are diagnosed with CDH. CDH occurs when the diaphragm has an incomplete formation or a hole. With an open diaphragm, organs such as the stomach, liver, spleen and intestines can move into the chest cavity, which can prevent full development of the lungs and make survival after birth difficult.
The occasion also marks a first full year of survival for a child born with CDH and aims to increase public understanding of the condition. Donations collected at the event will be presented to Tiny Hero, an organization that provides resources, knowledge, community and optimism to families facing a CDH diagnosis.
Registration is available for a fee of $25.00. Registration opens on November 1, 2026 and closes on January 31, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
