Event details
The Kickoff 5K takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Leawood, Kansas. The event lineup includes:
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run (open to ages 1 to 10)
- Virtual 5K
Participants receive a finishers medal and awards are given for age-group and overall placings. A custom race shirt is available for an additional $9 at registration.
Logistics and registration
The race location is 13400 Briar Street, Leawood, KS 66224. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, February 7 at The Running Well Store, 200 E 135th St, KCMO, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm; leftover packets and shirts will be taken to the race for those who do not attend packet pickup. Registration fees are non-refundable. Packets and shirts will not be mailed unless the participant is registered as a virtual entrant from the start or switches to the virtual event and pays any required difference.
Published entry prices are $29 for the 5K, $12 for the Kids Fun Run, and $44 for the Virtual 5K. The Virtual 5K had 38 spots remaining and its registration closes February 6, 2026. The 2026 charity partner is the Stop Trafficking Project, focused on combating domestic minor sex trafficking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
