Event overview
The Great Santa Run 5K is an annual holiday running event held on December 14, 2025, at Park Place in Leawood, Kansas (11549 Ash Street, Leawood, KS 66211). The event includes the following formats:
- 5K
- Little Elves Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
The Little Elves Fun Run is open to ages 1 to 8. Finishers receive medals; virtual participants and children in the kids run receive a finishers medal and a race shirt. A race shirt is also available for 5K participants for an additional fee. Registration fees are non-refundable.
Logistics, awards and charity
Packet pickup is held at The Running Well Store (200 East 135th Street, Kansas City) and at the Running Well Store location at 6009 Johnson Drive in Mission, KS in the days before the race. Leftover packets will be taken to the race site and may be available for pick up on race day beginning at 7am.
Awards in the 5K include top overall male and female, top masters male and female (40+), and top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups through 80+. The race supports Operation Breakthrough; a portion of registration proceeds and 100% of meal ticket sales will be donated. Registrants are asked to bring a $10 unopened, unwrapped toy for donation; each toy donor receives a raffle ticket and raffle prizes are drawn after the race.
