5K for Pizza - Jersey City
The 5K for Pizza takes place in Jersey City, featuring a running and walking event along the waterfront. Participants follow a flat course starting and ending near 30 Hudson Street. This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and utilizes professional chip timing to record official results for all participants.
Every registered participant receives two full-size slices of pizza upon completing the event. Several local pizzerias provide the food for the post-race festival, including Imposto's Pizza, Park Avenue Pizza, Pizzeria on Pine, and Tino's Artisan Pizza Co. A limited number of gluten-free pizza options are available for those with dietary restrictions.
The event includes a competitive element with prizes awarded to the top three overall men and the top three overall women. Additionally, there is a Best Dressed category where participants wearing pizza-themed attire can win gift cards to local establishments. Race-themed t-shirts are available as an optional add-on during the registration process.
