24 Hours of Palmer Lake
24 Hours of Palmer Lake is a 24 hour endurance race held in Palmer Lake, Colorado at 199 County Line Rd. The course is a repeated 0.82 mile loop on the Palmer Divide at an elevation of 7,240 feet, with surrounding mountain scenery. The event is described as a low fanfare, community driven gathering for participants who want to test endurance and experiment with pacing or nutrition.
Participants may pursue different goals including competing for the greatest distance covered in 24 hours, aiming for a personal distance record, or using the event as a training or nutrition test. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers by distance. The first ten runners who reach 100 miles or more within 24 hours receive a buckle onsite; additional qualifying runners receive their buckle a few weeks after the event.
Event registration includes a charitable element: five dollars from every registration is donated to the Palmer Lake Parks Committee. The organizer does not offer refunds, but may issue a credit toward the following year with at least a couple weeks notice. Registration closes on Fri, Sep 25 at 11:59 PM MT.
