Gleneagle Spirit 5K Family Fun Run
The Gleneagle Spirit 5K is the fifth annual community 5K event held in the Gleneagle neighborhood of northern El Paso County. The main event is a 5K run and walk that winds through the neighborhood streets and is professionally chip-timed by Eclectic Edge Racing.
The event is organized and presented by neighborhood realtors with volunteer assistance from resident neighbors. Following the run and walk there is a finish line festival with music and dancing, vendor booths, and food trucks serving before and after race entrees. A fire engine display is provided by the Monument Fire District, and the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy offers leg and ankle massages at the vendor midway.
Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in multiple age classifications, with gold, silver and bronze medals and eight age categories noted for prizes. Packet pick-up is scheduled for September 4, 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Accessibility features include a wheelchair accessible portable restroom. Parking is available on the east side of Gleneagle Drive between Jessie Drive and Baptist Road. All event proceeds go to Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center.
