Colorado Run for the Fallen 6 Hour Run/Walk/Ruck
The event on September 13, 2026 at Palmer Lake Regional Recreation Area is the 8th Annual Colorado Run for the Fallen, hosted by Honor and Remember - Colorado Chapter. It is an untimed event that allows participants to run, walk, or ruck for up to six hours; there are no chips or clocks and no required distance or duration.
The event honors more than 450 Colorado military service members lost since the start of the Global War on Terror. Each mile is dedicated to an individual service member; their name, rank, and date of loss are read aloud at tribute miles, followed by a moment of remembrance and a ceremonial salute. Participants may carry the name of a fallen service member and may join in a Final Mile of Honor.
All participants receive an event t-shirt. An aid station is available with water, electrolytes, and snacks. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both solo participants and teams may take part. Gold Star families receive free registration. Volunteers support the event, and Core Runners carry memorial flags and take part in the opening and closing ceremonies. Proceeds support Honor and Remember programs, including presentation of personalized flags to Gold Star families in Colorado. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
