Course format and rules
Teams of 2 to 4 people will complete a multi-discipline course that includes trekking, packrafting, mountain biking, and navigation. Checkpoints are optional while transition areas (TAs) are mandatory. There will be a required minimum portion of the course; teams may skip some checkpoints or choose routes to reach the finish. Scoring is points-based, with the team that earns the most points in the least time declared the winner. Route choice and navigation are part of the competition.
Packrafting details
Packrafting is included and teams may need to carry rafts and gear overland during one race leg. The overland mileage on that section is expected to range from a minimum of 3 miles to a maximum of 5 to 6 miles. Teams will not be required to bike while carrying packrafts.
