Greenbrier River Trail Marathon
The Greenbrier River Trail Marathon and Half Marathon take place in Marlinton, West Virginia on October 4, 2026. The event marks the 9th annual marathon and the 6th annual half marathon and is staged along the Greenbrier River Trail in Pocahontas County.
Both races use new out-and-back courses that begin and end in downtown Marlinton. The course is described as flat and fast with scenic river views and forested landscapes. Both courses are USATF certified and are designated Boston qualifiers.
Fleet Feet Roanoke serves as race director for this edition of the event. Proceeds benefit the Greenbrier River Trail Marathon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports maintenance and improvement of the Greenbrier River Trail and other local athletic activities.
Registration information notes that registering after September 7, 2026 may not guarantee a race t-shirt, name on the race bib, and may delay medal receipt or incur additional costs.
