Event Overview
The 2 to 22q Walk/Run/Ride is an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the 22q Family Foundation. Participants can choose between an in-person gathering at Coal Creek Park in Erie, Colorado, or a virtual option that takes place over the course of a week. The event supports individuals and families affected by 22q deletion syndrome, a genetic disorder occurring in approximately 1 in 2,000 births.
In-Person Event Details
The physical event in Erie, Colorado, features a time-your-own format. This approach allows the majority of registration fees to be directed toward charitable goals. The gathering is family-friendly and permits the use of strollers and non-electric scooters. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch, while the organizers provide drinks and a dessert food truck. Facilities at Coal Creek Park include a splash pad for attendees.
Virtual Participation
The virtual component allows participants to complete their chosen activity from any location, including neighborhoods, local parks, or on treadmills. This format spans several days, providing flexibility for participants to move according to their own schedules while feeling united with the community.
