1in5k Dyslexia Dash
The 1in5k Dyslexia Dash is a community run and walk held at Freestone District Park in Gilbert, Arizona on September 26, 2026. The event is organized by IDA Arizona and managed by StartLine Racing. It supports dyslexia awareness and promotes Structured Literacy through fundraising and community engagement. One listed fundraising goal is $5,000 for IDA Arizona.
The program includes in-person and virtual options, with participant packets and mailed virtual packets for US addresses. Children 10 and under may take part in a 100 yard Kids Dash that is untimed; all participants receive a shirt and a medal. In-person participants also receive a custom finisher medal and a custom dri-fit tech shirt, with an option to decline the shirt for a small discount. The 5K is chip timed with real time results and event photos. Male and female age group awards are given to the top three in each age group for the 5K.
Event services note that wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome when starting at the back of the field. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed on the course. Leashed pets are allowed. The event takes place rain or shine and there are no refunds for weather.
