The 1in5k Dyslexia Dash is a community 5K event held at Freestone District Park on September 26, 2026. The event includes an untimed 100-yard Kids Dash for children 10 and under and a virtual run option that ships race packets to participants. Distances offered:

IDA Arizona organizes fundraising around the Dash with a stated goal of $5,000 and identifies as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on supporting dyslexic learners through training, resources, and advocacy. The organization’s stated vision is Structured Literacy in Every Classroom and donations are tax-deductible.
All in-person and virtual participants receive a custom finisher medal and a custom dri-fit tech shirt, with an option to decline the shirt for a discount. The 5K uses chip timing with real-time results and event photos available online and via a mobile app. Top three male and female finishers in each age group receive awards. Pre- and post-race refreshments are provided.
Event operations are managed by StartLine Racing. The course allows wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons with those users required to start at the back of the pack. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not permitted on the run or walk courses. The event proceeds rain or shine and weather-related refunds are not offered.
