The Beat The Bridge 5K Scholarship Run/Walk is scheduled for June 19, 2027, in the Village of Matteson at 20642 Matteson Ave, Matteson, IL 60443. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual 5k option.

The event raises funds for college scholarships and internships, with a stated focus on supporting students who plan to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Organizers describe the race as a community event that brings together runners, walkers, families, students, businesses, volunteers, and civic leaders to support higher education opportunities.
Event features include a certified 5K course through the Village of Matteson, chip timing with a finish-line clock, race shirts, and finisher medals. Race shirts and medals are guaranteed for registrations completed by May 15, 2027; finisher medals are limited to the first 200 registrants. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers and to top finishers in multiple age groups. A post-race celebration is planned on the village soccer field with live entertainment, food vendors, wellness activities, and vendor booths.
Early packet pickup is scheduled June 16–18, 2027, 2:30 PM–8:00 PM at the Matteson Community Center (Eagles Nest). Race day packet pickup is listed for 6:30 AM–7:45 AM.
