Monster Dash
Riverton City’s Halloween event combines a community 5K and a Mini Monster Triathlon along the Jordan River Parkway Trail on Monday, October 5, 2026. The event is based at Dr. O Roi Hardy Park, 12400 River Vista Dr, Riverton, UT. Costumes are encouraged and finishers receive medals.
Distances and formats:
- 5K along the Jordan River Parkway Trail; each participant receives a medal and a t-shirt.
- Mini Monster Triathlon for ages 2 to 7: an age-appropriate run, followed by a bike, scooter, strider, or tricycle ride, and finished with a small pumpkin roll. Children may be assisted by a parent or guardian. Bikes and trikes should be attended at all times; Riverton City is not responsible for lost or damaged items. All mini triathlon participants receive a medal. The mini triathlon cost is $15.
Registration and packet information: General registration runs from July 11 to September 5 with a stated fee of $20; late registration runs from September 6 to October 5 with a stated fee of $25. Packet pickup is scheduled at Riverton City Hall from September 29 to October 3. For the mini triathlon, participants are asked to bring a bike, scooter, strider or tricycle, a helmet, comfortable clothes for running, and tennis shoes.
