About the race
Panting Four Paws takes place on October 3, 2026, at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This edition marks the event's 20th year.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1 Mile
The course starts and finishes by the playground at Lippold Park. The 5K follows one loop around the park and the 10K consists of two laps of the same loop. Post-race food and refreshments are provided.
Pre-race packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, October 2 at The Running Depot, 30 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake. Race day packet pick up and registration take place at Lippold Park. To be guaranteed a race shirt and size, registration must be completed by September 13, 2026; the 1 Mile registration does not include a race shirt.
Awards include one overall male and one overall female, plus first through third place in multiple age groups ranging from 14 and under up to 70 and over. All event proceeds benefit Helping Paws Animal Shelter. Helping Paws is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that cares for more than 800 animals annually and is fundraising for Phase 2 renovations.
