About the race
Battle of Salado Creek is the second race in the four‑race Alamo Beer Series Challenge held in San Antonio. The event offers multiple distances along the Lady Bird Johnson Park greenway at LBJ Park San Antonio, 10700 Nacogdoches Road.
Distances include:
- 13.1 miles
- 10 mile
- 5 mile
- 5k
- .05k
All finishers receive a medal. Awards are given 1st through 4th for all distances and across age categories from 14 and under up to 90 plus. Overall awards for first overall, masters, and super masters male and female are based on gun time. Age group awards are based on chip time because starts will be run in waves.
Packet pickup is available before the race at Fleet Feet San Antonio in Culebra Commons on Friday, September 11, and pickup is also available on race day at the race location. Course maps are provided by the organizer. Entry fees vary by distance and increase for late registration and on race day; listed base prices include 13.1: $99, 10 mile: $60, 5 mile: $50, 5k: $45, and .05k: $45.
The event includes a finisher party held under the stars at the race site. The organizer notes that the event location may be subject to change and that the race is part of a series that brings local running groups together. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
